Gérard de Bartillat
President and Founding Partner
As an engineer of the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures and a Doctor in Economics, Gérard began his career at Lazard Bank as a financial analyst in the mergers and acquisitions department. He spent two years at the Institute of Industrial Development, where he served as chief investment officer for the sectors of construction, petroleum and mechanical services.
His first entrepreneurial venture took place in 1984, when he participated in the founding of the Eurofin Bank, where was then name CEO in 1990. In 1996, following the backing of Eurofin Bank by the RTC, he was appointed President and CEO. When Eurofin Bank was integrated into HSBC Group in 2001, he became CEO of HSBC Private Bank France, formed by the merger of Eurofin Bank, Banque du Louvre, BPI and HSBC Republic.
He then held several key positions at HSBC where he acted as President of HSBC DEWAAY and member of the Executive Committees of Europe and World HSBC Group Private Banking and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of HSBC Private Bank France.
